Coaches
All cheer head coaches are AACCA (American Association of Cheerleading Coaches & Administrators) certified. Raiders Cheerleading has also adapted the National Federation of State High School Association Spirit Rules as a standard for our program.
Practice Schedule
Practices start the first week of August, and are held outdoors at Henry James Middle School in the center of Simsbury. Once school starts we move to an indoor location (to be determined) near the center of Simsbury. Home games are also played at Henry James Middle School with some select games at the new Simsbury High School field.
Do you compete?
The Raiders Youth Cheerleading program is not a competition team and do not travel to cheer competitions throughout the season - our focus is on cheering for the football games. However each year the cheerleaders participate in a league required CTYFL Cheer Competition. This is a day for the girls to ‘shine’ and show the crowd what they have learned. We place great emphasize on having this be a fun spirited day.
